Papua New Guinea Kindeng Mill coffee is a unique selection of coffees sourced from plantations in the Western Highlands region of Papua New Guinea. These highlands are renowned for their fertile soil and ideal growing conditions due to their high altitudes, which range between 1,520 and 1,770 metres above sea level.
This coffee is the result of the work of more than 1 500 small farmers who work together to grow the Arusha, Bourbon and Typica varieties on small farms of 1-2 hectares. Kindeng Mill, where the coffee is processed, uses a natural processing method that takes approximately four weeks. After harvesting, the coffee cherries are dried on raised beds and rotated regularly to ensure even drying. This demanding processing process contributes to the coffee’s rich and complex flavour profiles. Once drying is complete, the beans are stored in a dry and cool warehouse awaiting export.
What makes this coffee special are its flavour notes, which include sweet wine, dark chocolate and exotic fruits such as mango and pineapple. This combination of flavours creates a balanced profile with a strong acidity that lingers long after finishing. The flavour profile is also complemented by subtle floral notes that add freshness and uniqueness.
